Modern Quinceanera Invitations

We bring you many modern quinceanera invitations.  Finding the perfect invitaion may seem like a diffucult task, don’t worry, we’re here to help.  On this post, we’ll talk about the new inviations, the modern ones.

Zebra Quinceanera Inviations

Zebra or animal prints inviations are very modern.  Check the following Invitation.

You can buy these inviations on QuinceaneraInvites.com, this is numer 191, comes with silver cords.  Price is vere cheap.  This is a scroll, also acrolls can be handed inside boxes, bottles, etc.

This second quince invitations lools very elegant and modern.  It is a ticket invitation, very nice and colorful. Your party details go on the front, and also has more space on the back for additional info like list of damas, chambelanes, padrinos, an extra photo or poem.  That’s one the very importan things to look for when buying your initations, in some quinceanera invitations the space is limited, it is not a bad thing, but sometimes you need that extra room. Well this one has plenty of space, the colors are changeable to whatever color you want , it is shown on hot pink and lime.   It goes well with a masquerade themed party, but We have been told, that you can take the mask off and put something else, like a picture, if you don’t like the invitations with the masquerade. The ticket goes inside the silver box, and the invitation box is wrapped with a silver cord, we  love them.

Quinceaneras Invitations

Quinceanera Invitation

This last quinceanera invitation is a mardi gras themed credit card, includes your picture and all your party details on the front. The size is like a real credit card, the back message can also be personalized or changed.  This is one invitation that you won’t be able to list all your padrinos if you have a lot.  Some padrinos or your list of damas or chambelanes will fit just right but any kind of big list or big poem will be difficult to put in there. But again we don’t want a traditional quinceanera invitations, right? It looks  and feel amazing. It comes with a small envelopes, so you can hand them out to your friends.

All of the quinceanera invitations mentioned here in this post, you can buy them at QuinceaneraInvites.com

Quince Photo Invitations with Phone

Many people have problems sending email with an attachment, I guess people don’t use emails as much as we used to.  Another way to send a picture, it can be via phone, I think the phone makes it a little easier, but be careful sometimes the pictures send over the phone are cut, or resized to send the image faster, whenever you make the image smaller, then the resolution will decrease and it will not be able to be printed right, it will be a little blurry or a lot.

A way to make sure you’re sending a good picture is the final size of the message, if the picture is less than 50 k, then it is too small, and i’m talking the minimum here, whenever you’re printing somethin, the larger the image the better results.  So here is a little guideline of image size, final results comparison.

0 k to 50k  = Super Bad Quality For Printing

50 k to 150 k = Bad Quality

150k to 500 k = Ok  for Small Size Stuff

500 k  to 1 mb = Ok but can be better

1 mb – 2 mb = Ok

3 mb – 8 mb = EXELLENT

Now if the picture is blurry because your hand was shaky than, no matter how big the image, it won’t print right, blurry is blurry.  If you don’t have a special camera for pictures and you only have a phone follow the following easy to do steps to make sure you get a nice picture even with the cheapest phones.

1.  Turn your resolution setting to HIGH, or whatever max value you can get.

2. Turn your QUALITY value to HIGH too, some phones use values: QUALITY, RESOLUTION, SIZE, in any of these values, turn them to the MAX.

3. Take your pictures outsite on the shade

4. When you press the Shutter button to take the picture wait for 10 seconds extra and hold your breath.

5. Please Don’t cut the Quinceaneras head,  Include all the head and give it some extra room in all sides.

6. Tranfer your image to the pc for emailing (to make sure picture are  not resized when sending over the phone)

7. And don’t forget to SMILE, You’re going to be on the invitations!

Taking Good Pictures – DIY

Taking a Good Picture for your quinceanera invitations or quinceanera favors or arrangements

The following tips will help you take better pictures for your quinceanera invitations, or quinceanera favors or any other type of DIY project with a picture.

The first step of taking  a good picture is to borrow the best camera you can get.  Digital cameras are the best thing to get. Why?  You can shoot 50 pictures  and choose the best one.  Under your camera settings, increase the picture resolution to its max, this will allow you to crop your picture and still get a perfect print for your quinceanera invitation.  Now when submitting your picture to the person who is doing your invitations, or even you’re printing them yourself, remember to co crop too much the picture, this is why:

Picture Resolution

Picture resolution is very important to whenever you’re printing something with a picture, high resolution means better quality picture, low resolution is a bad picture.  How can you know if you have a good picture or a high resolution picture?

1. The picture is big in Megabytes (2 mg or more)

2. When you see the picture on your computer screen, it will be HUGE, or you will be able to zoom in without degrading the image.

If you have a picture that is 64 KB then you know that picture is small and will no print right, anything below 500 KB  is probably low resolution.

I’m assuming you have a consumer camera not a professional camera, so dial your camera settings to A or Automatic, this setting is usually green. Also turn your flash on.  Ok, that’s that for camera settings. Now you have to decide on what kind of picture you want.  Full body or portrait?  Portraits are only the head and part of the shoulders, these are the easiest to do, since you can shoot them anywhere.

Let’s say you want to shoot a portrait.  The next step is to look for a background with no distracting objects: people, sofas, cars, etc.  If possible take the picture on a park or backyard. Preferably take the picture outside for better lighting. If you wanna be a pro then try to shoot the picture early in the morning or late in the afternoon, the worse times are from 12 noon till 3 p.m.  Another great tip is that when you’re shooting the picture, then sun should NOT be hitting the quinceanera’s eyes.  The sun should hit her back.  Make sure the flash in on all the time and that you’re not too far from the quinceanera.  A good guide is that you should zoom the camera all the way out, and only half of the quinceanera should fit the camera viewfinder.  You should be very close to the quinceanra, no more than five feet.  Try to center all your shots, since the area of focus on most consumer cameras is at the center. If the sun is not too strong you can try to take some pictures with no flash, for a more natural feel. If the sun is TOO STRONG try to take pictures on some shade. This last step is the most important of all, you know what it is?  you should SMILE… Angry quinceaneras are OUT…

Planning a Quinceneara for Next Year

Planning a quinceanera is always a big task, even more if you have not done one before.  Well we’re here to help, feel free to browse our site for more tips, ideas, comments and insider stuff to all quinceanera.  Well, lets get started.  First of all we’re going to need a date, so start looking for reception halls in your area, one thing we need to know before looking reception sites is an idea of how many people it will hold.  So we need the your number of guests, bigger quinces need a bigger salon right!   Also don’t forget to include the dance area, check that the reception site has a good space for your corte de honor to dance their dances, surprise dance, etc.

The Quinceanera Reception Sites

With your number of guests in hand, ask around hotels, banquet halls, if possible go look at the place before deciding on it.  Just ask if your date is available, but don’t sign the contract yet, because if you want a religious ceremony before it, then you must find a church close to your city that will do it for you in the same day.  I guess locking the place and church would have to be done together, nowadays is becoming very difficult to synchronize these two.  But with a little patience and time it can be done.

The Church / Religious Ceremony

If you want a traditional religious ceremony on your quinceanera, then the best thing to do is lock your church date first and then with plenty of time look for a salon.  When it comes to locking places, time will be your only friend, ask the church administrator to lock your date in advance, many do it even one year earlier.  Many new quinces don’t even have a religious ceremony anymore, many don’t do it because of the synchronizing dates hassle, or just because they’re not religious enough.  Many others that really want to have one, do it in a different church and just have a blessing by a pastor.  Many others don’t want to pay for it since some catholic churches have a very high price.   Whether you’re having one or not, it is cool both ways.

Padrinos

This is very important, make your list very early in the planning process.  Don’t be shy this is a tradition, and a very good one, it allows us to have many quinceaneras in this economy.

The Quinceanera Dress

Everything gets easier after picking the right quinceanera dress.  The next step in your quinceanera planning project is to pick your quince dress, the color of your dress will dictate the theme colors, or at least give you some ideas for the decorations, favors, invitations, etc.   When picking out your dress the big question is the color, what’s your favorite one?  Turquoise, Hot Pink, Lime, Purple, Black or even Orange.  Should I buy the dress on a store or online?   Well, online is a little cheaper but, it may not fit you perfectly, and then you will have to pay for fixing it.

The Choreographer

Hire a choreographer for your traditional dances, baile sorpresas.  I’ve seen choreographers work with a group of damas and chambelanes for as long as 6 months.  It all depends how many hours per week you guys practice.   The more people you have in your corte de honor the more difficult it is, since moms have to drive them to your home or place to where they practice.  Also,  you have to feed them all, or at least buy some snacks and drinks.  Hiring a choreographer is becoming very expensive that’s why some people make up the dances themselves, or have a sister that had their quinceanera already, and is a little creative with dances and is up to the challenge.

Photo and Video

Finding a really good one is very important,  this will be the only thing left after everything comes to an end.  If you don’t want any surprises, ask for a sample video, a good videographer and photograher is not shy to show his work.   Always allow plenty of time for the production of your video and photos, video editing and good photo retouching takes some time.

Catering

Many people do their own food preparation and serving, but at the end say, “I should not done that, I din’t have time to enjoy my party”.   The Hispanic tradition is to serve your guests even if they arrive the party at 11 p.m.  How crazy is that right!  If you’re going to do this, always hire a waiter to do the job for you, or ask some relative to help you with that.  Of course there are companies that do this for you too, they prepare the food, and serve it.

The DJ

Ask your video guy to recommend you  a DJ. Or hire one that you know from a friends party.   Hire one that has a good light show, or plenty of lights to make the place feel like a party.  When it comes to hiring dj’s, ask about their onstage personality, and see if you like it.   This is important since, sometimes people say.  “No hablaba nada” or “Man, He didn’t shut up”.   This is very true, some people want all the introductions there can be, announcement for every part of the event, etc.   and many people want the dj, just to dj and be silent.

The Quinceanera Invitations

There is no party without guests right!  Order your invitations 2-3 months in advance, people usually do it in 2 months in advance, but many others do it the same month, please don’t leave it to the very last 2 weeks, since you have to allow one week for production and another week for shipping.   Many homemade invitations take even longer to make, allow 2-3 weeks for production and one week for shipping.   If you’re ordering online, double check your names and last names, since this is the thing the stores don’t change.  If you’re planning on having your padrinos on your invitations, choose an invitation with plenty of space, if not any invitation will do.

Ok, I think you can make a party now, you have all the basics, a dress, a place, the food, the dj, some one to video tape it, guests, of course there are many things left to do, but we’ll talk about them later.  Feel free to browse around and read many other of our posts, happy quinceanera planning!

Quinceanera Invitations with Photo

Quinceanera Invitations with Photo

Do you want your quinceanera invitations with or without your photo? Many quinceaneras even put their dresses on and take their picture for the invitations.  Many quinceaneras don’t want to show the dress before the actual sweet 15 party.   I have seen invitations with the pictures of the chambelanes, of course these are home made invitations.  This looks cool but takes more work, but not impossible.

The traditional verse for your invitations:

El Sr. Jorge Rojas y Maria Rojas

tienen el honor de invitarlo a Usted y a su

Apreciable familia a la celebracion de los

Quince Años de su hija

Carla Rojas

Este 4 de julio del 2010

a las cuatro de la tarde

en la iglesia

“Nuestra Sra. de Los Caminos”

123 Main St., Greensboro, SC

Recepcion a las 6:00 p.m.

en el salon

“Magnolia Hallroom”

1254  spring garden st, Greensboro, SC

This is the most used verse for your quinceanera invitations .  So another question that girls have is, Do we put the two last names.  Many quinceaneras just put one, but it is up to you and your parents.  On some invitations even the last name is left out, so basically anything goes.

The perfect quinceanera invitation

The perfect quinceanera invitation is not the most expensive or the cheapest. This invitation has to be unique in your area. Don’t get the one everyone is getting for their quince. Also avoid the stress and order them at least 3 months in advance. Sometimes things go wrong and time is your only friend when it comes to your invitations. The perfect quinceanera invitation should be elegant and unique, and best of all has to fit your theme, and i’m not just talking about color but wording or poems. If your theme is stars, then find a poem that talks about stars, or make your own poem, get a poem that you like and stick in there the word stars, soon you will find out, that it is easier than you think to personalize that perfect invitation.

Many quinceaneras also like to add a thank you verse for their parents, this is cool. But make it small, the invitation will look too crowded, and always remember that sometimes all the padrinos list have to go in the invitation too.  The quincenera that thinks ahead simpre vale por dos.
How about blank invitations?  These are cool too.  You can visit your nearest arts supply store and buy some blank paper and make your own quince invitations.  As I have said, the most expensive are not always the perfect invitations.  Blank invitations or handmade quinceanera invitations are perfect for when your theme is very unique and the only way to match your invites to your theme is by doing the invitations yourself in the computer.  I don’t always like to advice to make your own invitations to save money, becasuse sometimes you spend even more.  For example sometimes you’re almost out of ink and halfway of printing your invites you have to buy a new set of inks.  My $150 dollar printer has 6 ink cartridges and each one cost around $15 dollars , that’s $90 dollars for the ink alone.   And trust me when you’re printing invites with photos , the ink goes fast.  Ok, how about personalization?  Yes you can not beat that.  You can make half in english and half in spanish, something that would be very expensive when your order them to be professionally printed.

Traditional Quinceanera Invitations

Traditional Quinceanera Invitations

Traditional Quinceanera Invitations

These are your traditional quinceanera invitations.  Very versatile because the paper itself does not have any colors, therefore all you have to do is change the font or lettering color to  match your theme color.  Also this style has two panels for your information.  For those moms or quinceaneras new to buying quinceanera invitations, remember that the reception cards and lined envelopes are extra.  Lined envelopes are those envelopes with an extra piece of paper inside to make them look more elegant. The invitaton above has a pink lined envelope. Lined envelopes are usually an extra $15 dollars per 100.  Reception cards cost around $70 dollars extra per 100 for this type of invitation.
